1 第一個空應該用seated 或者sitting。seat是及物動詞，意為使賓語坐下。所以用seating或者was seating都是不對的。

2 thought應為 though（雖然）。這是讓步狀語從句省略了 it was. 這種讓步狀語從句的省略需要是主語和 be 同時省略。

3 lead to為短語動詞，= result in，意為致使，引起，后接名詞性結構作賓語。many nations taking actions against them 為動名詞復合結構作led to的賓語，其中many nations為動名詞的邏輯主語（動名詞復合結構作介詞賓語時，動名詞的邏輯主語一般用通格而不是所有格）。
